Check harness and put it on.
Do a buddy check.
Make sure your watch leader knows you’re going aloft
Have a drink - and pay a visit to the heads!
Better to think of that now than when you are seven stories up.
Look up -
make sure yards are in their lifts (i.e. yards are not partially hoisted. Lifts should look taut, not slack)
and braces (which rotate the yards) are also taut,
so the yards are well supported when you are aloft, and will not tilt or sway as the ship rolls
