Handling Lines

 

  Keep your hands clear of pins!

OK, but now  look at the fingers....

little-star.jpg  Pass lines from hand to hand when easing, don’t let lines run through your hands ( even if you have gloves on ).

Rope burns are very painful!

1. that it is the right line -- if you are not sure....ASK


2. whether it is under load -- by tugging it before you take any turns off the pin

ask someone to help you

little-star.jpg  When easing (letting out) a line, hold the line well above or well below the level of the rail

           ( depending on where the line comes from),

so the line runs securely around the pin close to the rail, not around the tip of the pin
